Vivah muhurat 2027: the full year, month by month
Every wedding date in 2027, month by month. Which months are heavy, which are completely empty and why, and what a crowded date really costs you at the venue.

Every vivah muhurat in 2027, month by month, in one place. This is a reference page, built to be skimmed and bookmarked rather than read end to end.
96 dates across the year, spread very unevenly. 3 months have none at all.
Where these dates come from
Every date on this page is taken from Drik Panchang, calculated for New Delhi, NCT, India, last checked on 2026-08-30. Location is part of the data rather than a footnote, because muhurat follows sunrise. This is the Panchang Shuddhi list. A stricter reading that also applies Lagna Shuddhi returns fewer dates than these.
Take the date to your pandit before you commit to it
This page cannot see your janam kundlis, your gotra or your family's own panchang tradition, and all three can rule a date in or out. Use the tables to shortlist. Let your pandit decide. Nothing goes to the printer, and no advance goes to a venue, before that conversation has happened.

May 2027 carries the most dates of any month in the year, with 18. Among the months that have anything at all, July 2027 has the fewest, with 6. That imbalance is the most useful thing on this page, and the reason for it is a few sections down.

Why some months are empty
The months with nothing at all this year are August 2027, September 2027, October 2027. Three separate traditions are doing the work, and they overlap.
Chaturmas is the one most families know. In the Vaishnav tradition these are the four months when Vishnu is said to sleep and auspicious ceremonies are set aside. It closes at Dev Uthani Ekadashi, and the season restarts immediately after, which is why the months on either side of it look nothing like each other.
Kharmas accounts for the two long pauses. When the sun moves into Sagittarius, marriages stop across much of North India, and the same happens again when it moves into Pisces in spring. The winter pause lifts around Makar Sankranti.
The one most couples have never heard of is Tara Asta, or combustion. When Venus or Jupiter passes close enough to the sun to be invisible from earth, the planet is described as combust, and many traditions hold no marriages during those weeks. Venus governs marriage in this system, so its combustion can empty an entire month that otherwise looks wide open. That is usually the answer when a month here is blank for no reason you can see.

Stack all three and you get the longest empty run of the year: 12 July 2027 and 10 November 2027 sit 121 days apart, with no wedding date between them at all. The year then closes on 14 December 2027, when kharmas returns.
What a crowded 2027 wedding date costs you
Look again at the count table. In a heavy month, every family in your city that wanted a good date is marrying on the same handful of evenings. That has consequences you can predict and plan around.
Venues go first, and they go earlier than couples expect. Ask any hall in your city how far ahead it takes bookings for the peak months, and the answer will be longer than you assumed. The photographers worth having are committed on exactly the same dates. So is the pandit your family has used for twenty years, which is an awkward thing to find out late.

Prices move too. Nobody publishes a peak date surcharge, but a venue holding three enquiries for one evening has no reason to come down, and you feel that in the negotiation rather than on the rate card. On a quiet date the same conversation goes differently.
Then there are your guests. When four weddings in the extended family land on one date, people choose. They go to the one they heard about first and the one whose invitation actually reached them. That is the practical argument for sending early on a crowded date.
Does the weekday of your muhurat matter?
Two dates can be equally auspicious and produce completely different weddings. Read the Day column as carefully as you read the date.
A muhurat on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday means guests do not have to take leave, which lifts attendance among the people who work and cuts the number of polite refusals you get in week three. It also means every other family with that date shortlisted is competing with you for the same hall, and you pay for the convenience somewhere.
A midweek muhurat inverts both. Halls have space, vendors have room to talk about price, and the guests who matter most will take the day off anyway. The friends and colleagues at the edges of the list will not. Plan the headcount around that instead of being surprised by it, and remember that for anyone travelling from another city a midweek date costs two days of leave, not one.
Before you trust any muhurat list, including this one
Most date pages on the internet are copies of each other. Four questions separate the ones worth reading, and this page should have to answer them too.
Which city was it calculated for? A list that does not say cannot be used for timings at all. This one says New Delhi, NCT, India, because that is the honest answer for the data behind it.
When was it last checked? Dates get revised. This page carries its verification date at the top, and if that date is old by the time you read this, treat the list as a starting point rather than the current word.
Does it show muhurat windows or only dates? This one shows only dates, because the source publishes only dates. Filling that gap with timings from another publisher would have put a wrong number beside a right date, so the column is simply absent. Ask your pandit for the window.
Which tradition does it follow, and does it admit that others exist? Publishers apply different rules. Some ignore Tara Asta entirely and therefore list dates this page does not have. Purnimant and amant month boundaries move things again. None of that makes one list right and another wrong, and any page presenting its dates as the single truth is telling you less than it knows.
How to use this page properly
Shortlist three dates, not one. Take all three to your pandit in the same conversation, so a rejection does not restart the process.
Then call venues about all three before you fix anything, and ask which of the three they still have. In a peak month the venue decides your date at least as much as the panchang does, and pretending otherwise just costs you weeks.
Once one date survives both conversations, book the venue that week. Then tell people. The gap between announcing a date and paying the advance is where families lose their first choice of hall.
For the season booking right now, the same data for November 2026 through March 2027 is on the current season page. Once the date is settled, the invitation timeline covers what happens in each of the weeks after.
Questions people ask
How many wedding muhurat are there in 2027?
96 dates, listed by Drik Panchang and calculated for New Delhi, NCT, India. Your family's panchang may show slightly more or fewer, because publishers apply different rules and because a pandit reading your kundlis can rule dates in or out for you specifically.
Why do some months have no wedding dates at all?
Three traditions do most of the work, and they overlap. Chaturmas sets ceremonies aside for four months. Kharmas pauses weddings while the sun sits in Sagittarius or Pisces. And Tara Asta, the weeks when Venus or Jupiter is too close to the sun to be seen, empties whole months on its own. Each empty month below carries its own note explaining which one applies.
Are these dates valid for my city?
They are calculated for New Delhi, NCT, India. The dates themselves generally hold across India, because they follow the tithi and nakshatra rather than the clock. The muhurat window inside each date is tied to sunrise and does not travel, so ask your pandit to work out the timing for your own city.
Why does this page not show muhurat start and end times?
Because Drik Panchang publishes this list as dates without timings, and copying timings from a publisher that follows different rules would put a wrong number next to a right date. Ask your pandit for the start and the end when he confirms the date.
Is it cheaper to marry on a date nobody else has picked?
Usually, though nobody advertises it. A venue holding three enquiries for the same evening has no reason to negotiate. On a quieter date you have room to ask about the package, the timings and the extras. The saving is not guaranteed and it varies by city, so ask two venues about the same date and compare what they say.
How early can we book a venue for a 2027 date?
Many banquet halls and hotels in Indian metros take bookings a year or more ahead, and the popular dates in the peak months go first, so ask two venues in your city what their booking window actually is. If your date falls in a crowded month, treat the venue as the first booking you make, before the photographer and well before the invitations.
