Shubh vivah muhurat 2026 and 2027: every wedding date
The full 2026 to 2027 wedding season, month by month. Plus the month with no wedding dates in it at all, and what that does to your venue booking and your invitation deadline.

Every shubh vivah muhurat from November 2026 to March 2027 is below, month by month. If that is all you came for, scroll and go.
If you want the thing that actually changes your planning, it is this. There are 40 wedding dates in the season, and in the middle of them two dates sit 34 days apart with nothing at all between them. That gap decides your venue, your budget and the week your invitations have to go out.
Where these dates come from
Every date on this page is taken from Drik Panchang, calculated for New Delhi, NCT, India, last checked on 2026-08-30. Location is part of the data, not a footnote: muhurat follows sunrise, so a list computed for one city is not automatically right for another. This is the Panchang Shuddhi list. A stricter reading that also applies Lagna Shuddhi returns fewer dates than these.
Confirm with your pandit before anything gets printed
A published list is a starting point, never a decision. Your family's pandit reads both janam kundlis, your gotra rules and your own regional panchang, and any one of those can rule out a date that looks perfectly fine here. Fix the date with him first. Print second. Cards are expensive to reprint, and dates are far more expensive to move.

Why there are no wedding dates from December 2026 to January 2027
The last wedding date of 2026 is 12 December 2026. The next one is 15 January 2027. 34 days apart, and not a single muhurat between them.
That is Dhanu kharmas, the period when the sun sits in Sagittarius. Marriages are traditionally not held during it, and it lifts when the sun crosses into Capricorn, the transit marked by Makar Sankranti. It happens every year, which is why the Indian wedding season behaves like two separate seasons stitched together rather than one long one.

The squeeze happens at both ends of the gap. Every family that wanted a December wedding is working with 7 days. Everyone who gets pushed past the pause lands on the January dates instead. The same halls, the same pandits, the same photographers and the same cooks are being asked for the same evenings by everybody you know.
And it puts your invitation deadline in an awkward place. Take the first date after the pause, 15 January 2027. Six weeks before that is 4 December 2026, which falls inside the December rush. So the cards for a January wedding have to go out in the exact weeks when everyone around you is attending other people's weddings, printing their own invitations and not answering the phone. Assume your printer is slower than usual and your relatives are somewhere else.
November opens with 4 days
The season restarts after chaturmas, the four month period in the Vaishnav tradition when Vishnu is said to sleep and auspicious ceremonies are set aside. It closes at Dev Uthani Ekadashi. Then the calendar opens again, and for November 2026 it opens onto 4 dates.
Read that again, because it is easy to skim past. Not a few weekends of options. That many days in the entire month.

Which tells you exactly how the booking goes. Those dates are gone first, and they go earlier than anyone expects. If your family is set on a November muhurat, call venues before the pandit conversation has even finished, ask what they still have across all of those dates, and take that answer back into the conversation. On a month this thin the venue decides your date at least as much as the panchang does, and pretending otherwise costs you weeks you do not have.
What a muhurat actually is
A muhurat is a window of time treated as favourable for a particular act. Not a lucky day. A window, with a start and an end, often only a couple of hours wide.
It comes out of the panchang, the traditional almanac. For any given day the panchang records five readings: the tithi, the weekday, the nakshatra, the yoga and the karana. A vivah muhurat is a stretch where those readings, taken together, are considered suitable for the marriage rites. The dates in the tables above are the days on which such a stretch exists.
Which matters practically, because the window is the part couples skim and then regret. The pheras happen inside it. Not the reception, and not the time printed on the card because it sounded reasonable. If your window opens late at night, the ceremony happens late at night, and the guests you told to come at seven will be asleep in their cars. Say it plainly on the invitation instead: dinner from this time, pheras at that time. People can handle the truth. Four unexplained hours, they cannot.
Why this page shows dates but no timings
Two columns, and that is deliberate. Drik Panchang publishes this particular list as dates, without start and end times, so there are none here. We could have filled the gap with timings lifted from somewhere else. We did not, because a window calculated under a different set of rules does not belong beside these dates, and a wrong ceremony time is worse than an absent one.
So get the window from your pandit, in the same conversation where he confirms the date. Ask for two numbers, a start and an end, and write both down. Then ask which city he calculated them for. Everything on this page is computed for New Delhi, NCT, India, and a family marrying in Chennai or Ahmedabad is working off a different sunrise.
Why another site shows dates this one does not
You will find lists that disagree with this one. Usually both are honest.
The most common reason is Tara Asta, the weeks when Venus or Jupiter passes close enough to the sun to be invisible from earth. Venus governs marriage in this system, and traditions that apply Tara Asta remove every date inside those weeks. Traditions that do not, keep them. The source this page follows applies it, which is why some months here are empty while another site shows a handful of dates in the same month.
Underneath that sit other differences. Most of North India follows the purnimant calendar, where the lunar month closes at the full moon, while Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat follow the amant calendar, which closes it at the new moon. Bengali, Tamil and Malayalam traditions run their own reckonings again. Some lists apply Lagna Shuddhi on top of Panchang Shuddhi and come out shorter.
None of that makes one list right and another wrong. It makes them different systems, and your family already belongs to one of them. It is also the honest reason a pandit outranks a website: he knows which system your family follows and he can see your kundlis. This page can do neither.
Once the date is fixed, the clock starts
Take your wedding date and count backwards. This is the arithmetic nobody does until late, and it starts with a guest list you can actually count, which for a wedding running several functions means one list per function rather than one long one.
| Count back | What has to be done by then |
|---|---|
| 90 days | Guest list written down properly, with phone numbers. Anyone flying in told informally, so they can start asking for leave. |
| 42 days | The invitation goes out. Six weeks is the honest minimum for a working adult to arrange leave and find a fare that does not hurt. |
| 28 days | Per function invites to the smaller groups: the mehendi list, the sangeet list, the people coming only for the reception. |
| 14 days | RSVP deadline you actually enforce. Not the day before. You need this number for the caterer, and it will still be wrong. |
Six weeks is not decoration. It is roughly what it takes for someone with a job and children to request leave, book travel and give you an honest answer. Four weeks survives if everyone lives in the same city. Stretch it to eight or ten if a real share of your list is abroad, because a visa appointment plus leave approval plus a fare that does not ruin the month is not a four week problem.
Then subtract your printer. Presses want time, and in season they want more of it than they admit in April. Ask yours for a real number, subtract that too, and you will find the design has to be finished well before the day the cards go out.
A website carries none of that weight. It goes live the moment you publish, and you can correct a misspelled venue at midnight when your chacha points it out. That difference is the actual argument for having both: a card for the hand, a link for everything else. The week by week version of all this is in our invitation timeline.

If none of these dates work
It happens more than you would think. A brother posted abroad, a court date, an exam, a grandparent too unwell to travel in the cold weeks.
You can push past the gap, which the tables above already map for you. You can ask your pandit whether a date outside this published list works for your specific kundlis, since the list is general and he is not. Or you can separate the rites from the celebration: pheras on a muhurat with the immediate family present, reception on a weekend that suits everyone else. Plenty of families do this quietly and nobody minds.
The bad version is picking a date because a hall was free, telling four hundred people, and only then taking it to the pandit. That is how weddings get moved after the cards are printed. For the year after this season, the full 2027 list is on its own page.
Questions people ask
Can we get married in December 2026?
Only in the first part of the month. The last wedding date of 2026 is 12 December 2026, and the next one after it is 15 January 2027. The pause in between is Dhanu kharmas, the stretch when the sun sits in Sagittarius, and marriages are traditionally not held during it. It lifts when the sun crosses into Capricorn, around Makar Sankranti.
Are these dates valid for my city?
They are calculated for New Delhi, NCT, India. The dates themselves generally hold across India, because they follow the tithi and nakshatra rather than the clock. The muhurat window inside each date does not travel, since it is tied to sunrise, so ask your pandit to work out the timing for your own city.
Why does this page not show muhurat start and end times?
Because Drik Panchang publishes this list as dates, without timings, and we would rather show you nothing than copy timings from a publisher that follows different rules. Ask your pandit for the window in the same conversation where he confirms the date, and write down both the start and the end.
Another website lists a date that is not here. Who is wrong?
Probably neither. The most common reason for a difference is Tara Asta, the weeks when Venus or Jupiter is too close to the sun to be visible. Some traditions remove every date inside those weeks and some do not. Purnimant and amant month boundaries, and whether Lagna Shuddhi is applied on top, also change the answer. Your family follows one of these systems already, and your pandit knows which.
How far before the wedding should the invitation go out?
Six weeks if your guest list is mostly in India, and eight to ten if a real share of the family is flying in. That arithmetic bites in this particular season: six weeks before 15 January 2027, the first date after the kharmas pause, is 4 December 2026, which lands inside the December wedding rush.
Do the sangeet and haldi need their own muhurat?
Usually not in the same way. The muhurat on this list is for the marriage rites themselves, and the functions around it are generally placed for convenience, which is why the sangeet lands on whichever evening suits the family. Some families do fix a time for the haldi or the tilak, so ask yours rather than assuming.
