Best wedding website builders in India: how to choose

One search returns three different products: a file you download, a film you forward, and a link that keeps working after you send it. Which one you are buying decides everything else.

Several wedding website designs open side by side on a phone and a laptop

Search for the best wedding website builder in India and the results hand you three different products in one list: a file you download, a film you forward, and a link that keeps working after you have sent it. Those are not rival versions of one thing. They are three separate purchases, and most of the regret in this category comes from buying one while picturing another.

We build the third kind, so we are not neutral. The section where we are the worse buy is further down rather than buried, and the questions after it work on us as well as on anything else you are looking at.

The choice is a format before it is a builder

A file is an image or a PDF with your details set into a designer's layout. It has one property nothing else here can match: once it is sitting in a guest's gallery it opens forever, with no signal, on any phone. It also cannot change. A venue moves and you are sending a second file to four hundred people and hoping they open the newer one.

A film is thirty to ninety seconds of animation with your names in it. It is the thing your family group will actually play, usually on speaker, once. Then it travels down the chat and nobody scrolls back up for the address at eight in the evening.

A link is a hosted page that is itself the invitation. It can be corrected after you have sent it, which is the entire argument for it, and it needs a working connection at the moment a guest taps it, which is the entire argument against.

Three formats against the three things that decide it the week a venue changes.

Plenty of families buy two of the three, and that is the sensible move rather than a compromise. The card is for the hand and the puja room. The link carries everything that can still move. What each of them costs is a separate question, and what a digital invitation costs in India goes through the bands.

A file, a film, a link. The decision is which of these you are buying.

What a wedding website builder has to do in India

An Indian wedding is not one ceremony with a note underneath it. Haldi at home in the morning, mehendi at an aunt's, sangeet at a banquet hall on the other side of the city, pheras at a muhurat nobody is moving. Each of those has its own date, its own time and its own address. A product that models a wedding as a single event with a single venue will fight you for a fortnight and lose anyway.

The second requirement is the guest list, and it causes more phone calls than the design ever will. Almost nobody is invited to everything. If one link shows every function to everyone, somebody opens a schedule containing a haldi they were not asked to, and that conversation is now yours to have. Filtered links per function end it quietly, and keeping a guest list across multiple events is the longer version of that problem.

Then the unglamorous ones, which decide more than the artwork does. Replies have to come back per function, because the mehendi count is not the reception count. Every event wants a tappable map link, because the guest who needs the address is already in a car. And the whole thing has to be legible on a four-year-old Android held by somebody's chachi. What actually goes on the page is its own job: the content checklist covers it.

Where we are the weaker choice

We would rather lose a sale than have you find these out after paying.

We are new. The site went live in August 2026, so there is no long trail of reviews to read. The collection is deliberately small, against galleries elsewhere holding hundreds, so if you want to browse for an hour and find the exact peacock you pictured, you will not do that here. We do not sell printed cards, video invites, PDF suites, a couple logo or a hashtag, and we are not going to start, because those are a different business.

Practically: your invitation lives on a shagunstudio.com subdomain and we do not sell you your own domain. The link stays live for one year from the day you publish. Editing closes the day after your wedding date. RSVPs arrive in your dashboard and there is no export to a spreadsheet yet, so if you plan to hand a caterer a CSV, that is a real gap today. And we have no vendor directory, no budget planner and no checklist, because the planning marketplaces already do that better than we would.

What we do have is narrow on purpose. Every design opens with a gesture rather than a homepage. Every edit after you publish is free, forever, so a venue moving at midnight costs nothing. Guests reply without making an account. Different guests can get links showing only the functions they are invited to. And the whole thing is built to be read on a four-year-old Android held by somebody's chachi, which is a design constraint most of this category does not take seriously.

The first three seconds are the only part of this decision your guests experience.

The questions that settle it

Ask these of whatever you are about to pay for, ours included. They take five minutes and are worth more than an afternoon of browsing galleries, because every one of them is a thing couples discover too late.

Can it hold every function separately, each with its own date, time and address, rather than one ceremony with a note underneath? Can guests reply per function, so the mehendi count is not the reception count, and can you send one family a link showing only the functions they are invited to?

What does an edit cost after you publish, and how many are included? Get the number before you pay, not on the night your venue changes. Then ask how long the link stays live, and what happens to your RSVP list afterwards: can you get it out as a file, or does it live only inside somebody else's dashboard?

Do you own the link? On a subdomain you do not, and that is usually fine. What matters is whether it keeps working for as long as you need it and whether it can move if you ever buy a domain of your own.

Is support in your timezone, and is it a person? An overnight reply is an inconvenience in October and a disaster in the week of the wedding.

Then open the demo on the oldest Android in your family and watch the first three seconds, because that is the only part of this decision your guests will ever experience. And be clear about what arrives at the end: a file to forward, or a link that updates. Neither answer is wrong. Knowing which one you bought is the whole thing.

Which format fits which wedding

If what your family needs is one card in your own script, forwarded once, and nothing after that, the file is the right buy. It is the cheapest thing on this page and it does its single job better than anything else does.

If you want one thing your grandmother taps and watches, the film is the right buy. Just do not ask it to carry the parking instructions on the day.

And if you have three to seven functions, a family that lives inside WhatsApp, and a date or a venue that could still move, the link is the only format on this page that can be corrected after you have sent it. That is the whole reason it costs what it costs. You can build one in the collection and read it on your own phone before spending anything, which is a better test than any comparison table including this one.

Questions people ask

Is there a genuinely free wedding website builder in India?

Free to build is common. Free to send is rarer. Plenty of products let you fill in every function and look at the result on your own phone without paying, then charge when you publish, and ours works that way. What to read carefully is what a permanently free tier costs you instead: a watermark, a locked design, or a link that quietly expires.

Can one wedding website hold a multi-day Indian wedding?

It should, and this is the first thing to test. Each function needs its own date, time and address rather than one ceremony with a note underneath, guests need to reply per function so the mehendi count is not the reception count, and you need to be able to send one family a link showing only the functions they are invited to. If a product cannot do those three, a five-day wedding will fight it.

What is the difference between a wedding website and an e-invite?

What you hold at the end. An e-invite is a file you download and forward, so it works with no signal and cannot change after you send it. A website is a link, so it needs a connection to open and can be corrected at midnight when the hall moves. Many families buy both, a card for the hand and a link for the details.

What should I actually compare before choosing?

What an edit costs after you publish, how long your link stays online, whether you can get your RSVP list out as a file, and whether the first screen looks like an invitation on your own phone. Everything else is preference.

Are add-on prices worth paying?

Usually not. A couple logo is a short design job sold as a separate product, and a custom domain is a vanity purchase when every guest arrives by tapping a link in WhatsApp. Price the invitation with the extras included before you decide one option is cheaper than another.

How new is Shagun Studio?

New. The site went public in August 2026 and the collection is deliberately small. If you want a platform with a decade of reviews behind it, that is a fair reason to choose someone else, and we would rather say so here than have you find out later.
